New Button Community!
Hello all! Writing today is Hannah, and I will be helping Becka with the social and new button community aspects of Becka Makes Buttons. My passion has always been for community and being able to help Becka build hers just makes sense.
I’ve been doing research on buttons, pinbacks, and the button community as a whole as part of my work catching myself so I could do my best. I needed to know: who loves buttons, and what is happening out there for those people?
As it turns out, though there are many spaces where people who make buttons get together to talk about how much they love buttons, there was no community for everyone else. If you want to talk about how nerdy you are about buttons, you have to either go to a button maker’s space and talk to them, or talk about it on your own page…. and other people aren’t always going to be as enthusiastic as you are about buttons. We know this to be a fact because we are those nerds too!
We know people love buttons, even if they only have one button they really love, and until today there wasn’t a place for those people to get together and talk to each other about. As such, we created a new community in the Facebook group space for everyone else to talk about their favorite buttons and pins, and we would love for you to join us: https://www.facebook.com/groups/buttonpinpropaganda/
