New Button Community!

News | November 6th, 2021

Hello all! Writing today is Hannah, and I will be helping Becka with the social and new button community aspects of Becka Makes Buttons. My passion has always been for community and being able to help Becka build hers just makes sense. I’ve been doing research on buttons, pinbacks, and the button community as a whole as part of my work catching myself so I could do my best. I needed to know: who loves buttons, and what is happening out there for those people? As it turns out, though there are many spaces where people who make buttons get… Continue Reading →

ALL THE CHANGES!!!

News | October 23rd, 2021

Hello Everyone! Things have been super quiet on the blog for a bit. There have been a lot of big changes for myself and the business over the last few months…so let’s just get into it… First off, I’d like to give a huge shout out and thank you to my former Social Media Manager Tianna Cohen. While her time with me was short lived, she was a tremendous help in getting me back on track with social media. As things started opening up again, she landed a wonderful opportunity that feeds her soul and is more aligned with her… Continue Reading →

Entering the World of Buttons

News | April 16th, 2021

Entering the World of Buttons Hello, World! My name is Tianna. If you’ve been following along, you know that Becka has recently hired me to help run some of the social assets for Becka Makes Buttons, including Instagram, Facebook, and this lovely blog.  You also know that I am a creative person – who sometimes disguises herself as a mermaid. But as creative as I am – I don’t know much about the world of buttons. My favorite thing about taking on this new position is getting to share a creative passion with an art form I am not familiar… Continue Reading →

I hired a mermaid and buttons didn’t die!

News | March 13th, 2021

Wow wow wow wow wow…it’s been a super long year since everything first shut down. For the first time since I started making buttons back in 2011, I found myself with zero business for about a month. It was weird and scary. Back in December of 2019, I left my construction job to pursue my passion in button making, I had events booked out through December 2020, my name was on the list of vendors for the Washington State Spring Fair, which was a huge honor….and then boom. March 2020 hit and no more events, no more connections, no more… Continue Reading →

Part of a Team

News | June 21st, 2020

The best part of making buttons for me is the connections I make with others through sharing my craft. I never know who’s going to walk into my vending booth or send me an email on any given day. Sometimes it’s just a quick order for someone who just needed a few buttons like these buttons I made for a music lover and football(real football, not American catchball) fan down in Orange County, California. And sometimes it’s a real labor of love on both sides. With the orders that came in May, I also got to meet a man with… Continue Reading →

Why This Is The Best Job In The World

News | May 24th, 2020

Hello again Button Lovers! We are nearing the tail end of Mental Health Awareness Month, and here I’ve captured a selfie of a rare Becka in the wild, taking a day to enjoy a walk in the woods with my husband and our dogs. The three of them are very good at avoiding pictures. You can really only stay cooped up in your house for so long, and when Mt. Rainier is pretty much your back yard, it’s pretty easy to keep a good distance away from others while giving yourself a good, healthy dose of self-care. I have to… Continue Reading →
